Accounting Clerk / Bookkeeper
\n Location: Monroe, MI (100% On-Site)
\n Pay Range: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour
\n Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
\nKelly Services is looking for an experienced and adaptable Accounting Clerk / Bookkeeper to join our team in Monroe, MI . This temp-to-hire role offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a department undergoing modernization and restructuring.

\n Position Highlights: \n

  • Flexible Schedule Options: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, or 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM\n\t
  • On-Site Only: Offices with full walls (no doors), close-knit accounting department\n\t
  • Interview Process: Starts with a phone interview, followed by an on-site meeting\n\t
  • Hiring Timeline: Start date will follow a probationary period; hiring to begin after July 7th\n
\n
\n Key Responsibilities: \n\n
    \n\t
  • Perform all daily accounting functions including:\n\n\t \n\t\t
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable \n\t\t
  • Bank Reconciliation \n\t\t
  • Month-End \n\t\t
  • Prior relevant experience from manufacturing company highly preferred \n\t
\n\t\n\n Will backup to the following areas – no prior experience needed in these areas, must be open to training \n\n
    \n\t
  • \n\t \n\t\t
  • General Ledger Entries\n\t\t
  • Fixed Asset Tracking & Updates\n\t
\n\t\n\n\n
    \n\t
  • \n\t \n\t\t
  • Assist with Financial Reporting (training provided if needed)\n\t
\n\t\n\n\n
    \n\t
  • Cross-train within the department to support invoicing, payment processing, and reconciliation\n\t
  • Contribute to departmental improvements and modernization of accounting processes\n

\n Ideal Candidate Will Have: \n\n
    \n\t
  • Solid accounting/bookkeeping experience (consulting or process improvement a plus)\n\t
  • Comfort working in a non-corporate, evolving environment \n\t
  • A willingness to support a departmental rebuild and wear multiple hats\n\t
  • Experience with ERP software JD Edwards preferred , but others accepted\n\t
  • Basic Excel skills (formulas, sorting, filtering)\n\t
  • Strong attention to detail and good communication skills\n

\n Work Environment: \n\n
    \n\t
  • Small team: this role will join two other staff members, including a retired clerk assisting with training\n\t
  • Executive VP is acting as Controller, with opportunity for exposure to broader company finance functions\n\t
  • The role is part of a collaborative team supporting over 1,000 accrual accounts and fixed assets \n
