Your Role and Responsibilities

As an Assistant Produce Manager, you will:

  • Lead and Inspire: Provide direction and support to our team, motivating them to achieve excellence in their roles.
  • Monitor Operations: Oversee operational aspects that affect gross margin and profitability in the prepared food section.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with the Produce Manager and Production Manager to optimize product usage and labor allocation.
  • Manage Inventory: Ensure an appealing and well-stocked environment by managing inventory, ordering, and displays.
  • Deliver Exceptional Service: Assist customers in person and over the phone, processing special orders with care.
  • Present with Style: Arrange salad bar components attractively, adhering to company presentation standards.
  • Maintain Freshness: Monitor and stock salad items, ensuring quality and freshness.
  • Prep with Precision: Wash, peel, chop, slice, and dice fruits and vegetables.
  • Ensure Cleanliness: Keep work areas organized and adhere to food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Monitor Temperature: Keep an eye on temperature controls for perishable items to prevent spoilage.

Qualifications for Success

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • 1+ years of leadership experience, preferably in a managerial role.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and varying shifts—enjoy a balanced schedule with most departments closing by 9 PM.

Physical Requirements

We’re looking for someone who can:

  • Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Push and pull up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally.
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and squat frequently.
  • Handle various tasks with dexterity and precision.
