NATURE OF WORK: This position researches, gathers documentation and fulfills the necessary requirements of various funding sources to formally seek funding on behalf of the Nisqually Tribe.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Research grant-making organizations. Write grant applications that display meticulous grammar and spelling. Adhere to guidelines given by the CEO and/or designee. Analyze the feasibility of project budgets. Perform comprehensive research; gather documentation and interview individuals within the program /department to complete projects. Work with multiple programs/departments to maintain comprehensive knowledge of the all assigned projects. Monitor submitted grant applications and maintain contact with the funding organization to check on the progress of the proposal. Submit progress reports to the CEO of Nisqually Tribe Submit progress reports to the funding agency on how we are utilizing the funding dollars. Perform other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of funding sources and planned activity for Nisqually Tribe. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar. Knowledge of grant management and compliance concepts, practices and procedures. Knowledge of MS office suite and other common software programs. Skill in performing comprehensive research. Skill and ability to demonstrate a high level of organization Skill in active listening Ability to analyze and interpret information, prepare reports and draft correspondence. Ability to understand the needs of both the Nisqually Tribe in need of funding and the organization that is offering the grant money. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing Ability to operate a personal computer and other common office equipment Ability to understand and execute complex instructions Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Ability to observe, receive and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources. Ability to develop, designs, and create material for grants and proposals. Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them overtime. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in English or in related field OR and equivalent amount of experience and/or education Five years of writing/editing experience. Five years of proposal writing experiences. Must have valid Washington State driver`s license and be insurable under the Nisqually Indian Tribe`s insurance policy. Nisqually Indian Tribe
