Immediate full time position available
BASIC PURPOSE: To provide primary care for adolescents ranging from 12-17 who struggle with mental health issues, eating disorders and/or substance abuse. To provide ongoing support to group therapist and academic liaison during group and school time; give medications to clients and document administration of medications.
Specific Responsibilities:• At intake, the Medical Assistant plays an important role in welcoming and acclimating new clients to the program, educating new clients to the expectations and requirements for successful treatment.• At intake, the Medical Assistant is also responsible for taking the vital signs, blood pressure, height, weight, drug screen, body check, etc.• Additionally, candidate will document vitals daily including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate.• Obtain and document client weight weekly• Work with the Psychiatrist to ensure medications changes occur in accordance to medication management policy.• Update and maintain medication management system logs daily as required.•Submit detailed notes, for each client including daily fitness, food diaries, and 12 step meeting.
Acceptable applications must have a current Medical Assisting degree/certification • Experience working with adolescents age 12-17 years old• Crisis management• Knowledge of psychopathology and dual diagnosis.
