Compensation:

  • Competitive Pay : $18.00 per hour + $3–$5 hourly shift differential if assigned to Mobiles
  • Additional $1 per hour once driver training is complete

RESPONSIBILITIES

About the role:

OneBlood Phlebotomists perform phlebotomy and collection procedures and processes related to the collection of blood and/or blood components from donors according to OneBlood’s policies and procedures, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, and American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) standards.

Please note: This role requires the ability and willingness to drive OneBlood bloodmobiles and other collection vehicles. Candidates must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and at least two (2) years of U.S. driving history.

  • Lead : Provides leadership, instruction, and guidance to the collection staff during blood drives or at branches, including assignment of meal/break periods
    • Completes beginning and end of shift responsibilities, including review of all donor records and regulated documents for accuracy and completion
  • Phlebotomy : Displays excellent customer service and professionalism towards all customers.
    • Obtains medical history and vitals from donors and/or patients
    • Performs phlebotomy and collection procedures to collect blood or blood components
  • Drive : Drives a bloodmobile and other collection vehicles to and from collection sites.
    • Drive time can be up to 2 hours each way.
    • Ability and commitment to drive are essential.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education : High School diploma or equivalent and six months of related experience
  • Licenses : Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License with at least 2 years of documented driving history in the United States and 4 years of clear driving history. Required to successfully pass driver training
  • Schedule : Must have open availability without the need for set shifts/set days off. Evenings and weekends required

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:

  • Ability to read, understand and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English
  • Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Must be able to operate and drive a mobile unit, box truck, or van to designated site locations
  • Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Tasks involve lifting, carrying, pushing and/or of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 50 pounds). Tasks may involve some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, walking, standing for extended periods of time. If assigned to work on mobiles, tasks also include driving a large vehicle.
