RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process all new and used vehicles for registration in the state in which they will be titled
• Prepare tax and title documents
• Submit all legal transfer work to the Department of Motor Vehicles
• Verify that funds have been collected and the lienholder paid off before processing title application
• Obtain a power-of-attorney for every deal
• Check applications for accuracy and ensure that all information is complete
• Prepare payoff checks for new vehicles and trade-ins
• Bill out all dealer trades and prepare Certificates of Origin
• Maintain a system to verify out-of-state titles
• Compile and maintain a complete list of all outstanding title work
• Report to management on the status of any missing or problem titles
• Provide a current list of outstanding titles to the controller at the end of each month
• Sign over titles for all wholesalers who have paid in full
• Notify management of any funds not collected from wholesalers due to incomplete title work
• Prepare stock cards for new and used vehicles
• Post vehicle sales and purchases
• Process/register all vehicle warranties and extended service contracts
• Maintain a log of all contracts processed and mailed
• Process yearly renewal of dealer tags in conjunction with controller
• Stay abreast of title regulations
• Maintain a professional appearance and a neat work area

QUALIFICATIONS

• Computer proficiency
• Ability to read and comprehend documents, simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Ability to explain information to customers, clients, and other employees
• Basic mathematical skills
• Background check
